Golfing Regions in Ireland

The Southwest (Clare, Kerry, Cork and Limerick) is the place of pilgrimage for all those who wish to experience the best Irish golf has to offer. The majority of courses are located along the coasts from Galway to Waterville as well as some parkland courses inland.maps-west

 The Northwest (Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Sligo) offer pure links golf. From Galway all the way to Ballyliffen, courses lie along the Atlantic shoreline. Some parkland courses complete the mix.

Golf in the South is in and around the county and city of Cork. Heath and parkland terrain offer splendid golf with many new and fabulous courses.

The Southeast   (Carlow,   Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford, Wicklow) runs from Dungarvan                                      in the South up to Dublin, courses are mostly park and heath land.maps-east

The Northest and Dublin (Dublin, Kildare, Louth, Meath) features over 50 courses with more on the way. Two of best are Portmarnock, venue for 15 Irish Opens, the Walker Cup and the Canada Cup, and Druid’s Glen, venue for the 1996 Murphy’ s Irish Open.
