Types of Game Fish in Ireland

 The waters of the North Atlantic Drift lap the south and west coasts of Ireland giving it a milder climate than geographical location would indicate.  The result is a fabulous mixture of cold and warm water fish species, capable of exciting the specialist or casual angler on any vacation.

 In fresh water, species range from pike, trout, perch and bream, to salmon.

Salt water game fish include sole and flounder, sea bass, ling cod, wrasse, and North Atlantic Salmon.

Some Irish waters have seldom, if ever, seen a rod and line, but exploration is always an enjoyable part of any fishing holiday.
