Did you know ………
‘Easter Monday‘ is actually a major holiday in Ireland…. Well – the whole Easter week, plus Easter Monday.
Ireland of course observes Easter Week: The Holy Tridium, The Last Supper Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday….. At the same time is the commemoration of the —
1916 Easter Rising — which led to Irish Independence (from the fekkin’ Brits). The Rising was supposed to happen on Easter Sunday – but like most things Irish it got delayed to noon on Monday – and was mostly a disaster.
But still – another good reason to have an extra holiday, and of course – “celebrate”.
